Don't Look Back

An innocent glances over his shoulder at his shadow. The distorted spectre leers back brandishing an upraised club and clutching a dagger/cross. The face of the shadow seems alien. A massive chain anchors it to its rusted past. A ticking bomb is all that's left of its heart.

Behind the shadows the hand of death grips the cocked trigger of a gun aimed straight at our head. Nuclear holocaust has given us the garden of tombs. In the world to the right there is nothing left.

We must not be afraid to look into our own past and know ourselves. Healing will come. We are never as frightening as we imagine. There really is no boogey man following our every step.

In every moment we are given a new choice, a new chance to separate from the bonds of the past. We can always forgive ourselves and the world and become the innocent, free to walk into the future.
