Permanent Standard Time.
Standard Time is an Educational STEM asset.
- Standard Time makes sundials work.
- Standard Time makes global distance calculations logical.
- Standard Time avoids having to explain why there are no actual time “Savings”.
What is the young scientist to think after discovering that simple sundials do not work most of the year?
What is the budding mathematician to think when the time distance to Europe fluctuates between 7 and 8 hours according to what seems like political whim?
What is the young philosopher to think upon realizing no time is ever saved by so-called Daylight Savings?
STEM education deserves all the help we can provide.
It is true that the twice yearly time switching has deleterious health effects.
It is wrong to support permanent Daylight Saving Time.
Please rescind and refuse any support for the so-called Sunshine Protection Act and instead work to support our future scientists and STEM students by enacting Permanent Standard Time.
